No woman has ever taken this many overall stage victories, as Ramona did at this weekends Swedish Championship competition ”East Sweden Rally”. Ramona and Miriam dominated the rally and won 5 stages overall out of 9. If it wasn’t for a bad puncture, they would have taken their first overall victory in their Skoda Fabia WRC. ”It was at a darkness stage with a lot of dust and bad sight, and I simply did not see a stone at the edge of the road. We hit the stone and had to drive at the rim for 8 km.” Ramona says.
After the puncture, Ramona made a impressing and goal minded driving. She won all the remaining gravel stages overall, and climbed from 5th position up to 3rd. This resulted in Ramona and Miriams third podium place in a row, and now they are at a comfortable 2:nd position overall in Swedish Championship, with one competition left.
”Incredible feeling. It feels really great to be in the top in our very first WRC season, and the silver medal feels quite close now. But everything can happen in rally, and there is one competition left.” Ramona says.
