Ramona Karlsson and Miriam Walfridsson had a good first test prior to this weekend’s Rally New Zealand. On sunday they participated in the official test and had the opportunity to try the new engine for 40 kilometers (25 miles) before starting the rally on friday.
– This is a section known to be one of Carlos Sainz’s favourites down here, Ramona says. The characteristics of the roads allows high speed, and due to this it’s important to stay in the right track. The test went very well, our car felt great and we think that it is useful to have driven some miles to get some feeling for these roads before starting the competition.
Coming up is three days of recce, and Ramona and Miriam will make use of these days by setting the pace notes thoroughly. In doing this, they get to drive the rally stages for the first time.
– It’s fantastic to be here, Miriam says. Now we’ll start recce and it’ll be fun and exciting to see the stages. We’re looking forward to three days of writing pace notes!
