This weekend Ramona and Miriam competed in the 2:nd competition in the Swedish Rally Championships, with their Skoda Fabia WRC. Ramona and Miriam were fighting in the top already from the start, and where the first stages went in darkness. At the first stage they had a top time, but got stuck in a snow bank and lost 20-30 seconds. At SS2 they took revenge, and had 2:nd fastest time after the 18 time-Swedish Champion Mats Jonsson in hos Ford Escort WRC.

Many were impressed of Ramona and Miriams fast development in their new car, and that they already in the beginning of the season are fighting in the top.  ”Practice makes results. Now we have got approximately 200 km in the WRC-car, and we are starting to get a good feeling in the car. We found a speed that suited us good during the competition. Fast, but without taking any big risks” Ramona says.

Ramona and Miriam continued to drive top times during Sathurday. They had a very close fight with  Ingemar Svensson in his Ford Focus WRC about the 4th place, and when it was two stages left they only had 6 seconds up to Eddie Hörbing at podium place. Eddie put a impressing time on the second las stage and were increasing his lead with 8 seconds. Now Ramona and Miriams goal was to climb to 4th place at the last stage. They only had two seconds up to Svensson and the stage was 13 km. ”We had a good speed at the stage and it felt very promising. But after approximately 10 km we got puncture and lost time” Ramona says. But despite the puncture, they made a very good driving and had 4th time overall.  Svensson were 2nd overall though- 5 seconds in front of Ramona and Miriam, which resulted in a 5th place for Ramona and Miriam.

Now Ramona and Miriam aims for the gravel season. Next SC competition is  South Swedish Rally  9-11 May. The girls will put a lot of time and effort to get a better budget so they can make some gravel test and competitions, so they will come as prepared as possible for the gravel season.
