Second day of recce is over, and thanks to Andrew Simms Newmarket (Auckland’s Mitsubishi distributor) we’ve been very comfortable in the Mitsubishi Ralliart he lent us. An odd feeling to be driving in the right side seat, but one gets used to that too 🙂 ! The roads of New Zealand are really nice. The characteristics are shifting – but the roads are mostly fast and hard. Some stages are tricky and curved though, and it’s important to be aware of how the car is positioned during the rally. We think that we’ve got the pace notes just right!

Miriam will be burning the midnight oil, writing out the pace notes from recce. Longest stage this far goes over a bit more than 60 pages, and it’s a good couple of hours every night to complete it all.

Jari Ketomaa borrowed our recce service today, his own was temporarily not avaliable. DMACK-colleagues helps one another 🙂

It’s time to hit the bed, but first we’ll watch some recce films. The jetlag isn’t quite gone yet, and when you seem to be waking up around 3-4 am every day you have to make sure to get enough sleep. Even if it means going to bed very early. Tomorrow is the last day of recce – the competition is getting closer!
