Ramona Karlsson, Miriam Walfridsson and the entire team is now set in New Zealand for the Rally New Zealand next weekend. Ramona Karlsson is eager to return to the driverseat for this seasons third World Rally Championship, and anticipates that the roads of the island will fit them just fine.
– This is a rally that I’m really looking forward to and Miriam and I are very excited, Ramona says. New Zealand has very nice gravel roads that reminds a bit about the Finnish rally roads and they will probably suit us well. Our goal is to reach the finish line, and drive through the entire rally. There are some local drivers in our group that are known to be fast and they are familiar with the roads, but if we manage to reach top five we will be satisfied.
The rally weekend will start this sunday with an official test followed by three days of reconnaissance. Ramona and Miriam has made sure to be well prepared.
– We’ve filled our computers with films from previous rallies in this area and Miriam has been talking to Emil (Axelsson, co-driver for P-G Andersson) and got some useful tips. We feel ready for this. Our mechanics will install the new engine in our car prior to sunday’s test.
The rally starts officially on next friday and consists of 400 kilometers (248,5 miles) of special stage and it ends next sunday.
