World Rallycross in Höljes were going to be a tough challenge with not less than 38 Supercars on the grid! Two heats were driven the first day, where Ramona came in 4:th position and ended the day with a heat victory – her first one in Supercar. “What a great feeling to win in front of the home audience, and with over 30 000 spectators! I had goose bumps all over my body when I opened the door and heard the audience” Ramona happily says.
During day two, the two last heats were driven and it was going to be a very tough fight into the first corner. Ramona were very quick off the grid in the start, but lost time on the straight. “I had the outer lane, and if you are not first in the start, you have two options; either to brake and go behind, the pack – or to just get in there and hope that you’ll stay on track. I chose the latest option. And in heat four I was pushed off the track into the sand”. But with the right foot down, Ramona succeeded to get on track again and started to chase the field. She reached the goal at third position in the heat, and were fourth in Heat 3.
Ramona showed a clean driving with big attack, but the times showed something else. ”I pushed hard and didn’t make any big mistakes, but still I loosed time. I’m at least one second per lap slower than I expected and that’s way to much. I’m not satisfied at all, and at the same time a bit confused. We need to analyze why I loose so much time.” Ramonas says, who dropped down to 26:th position in her Saab 9-3 Supercar. ”Otherwise it was a really magic weekend. Great arrangement, audience record, and a lot of sponsors on the grand stands. I never forget their happiness after my heat victory at day 1, it was a great feeling to share that with them” Ramona says.
