Ramona Karlsson is one of Sweden’s fast-growing motorsport stars. She drives one of the worlds’ most extreme Rally cars, and at last weekends’ Swedish Championship final, she were fastest overall. Ramona became historic as the first woman ever to achieve a total victory in a Swedish Championship Rally. Next year Ramona aims at Rallycross World Championships.
– I like the arena format, which attract a lot of media, audience ,and sponsors. I also like the explosivity in the sport. It’s very fast cars with over 600 Hp, it’s tough and extreme, and I think it will suit me. I think my background and experience in Rally is a large benefit, and I look forward to take the next step in my career. I competed in Rallycross as a Junior, and became a two-time Swedish Championship medalist, Ramona Karlsson says.
Ramona Karlsson started to compete in motorsport at 12 years of age with great successes, and 2012 she ran her own team in Rally World Championship as the first Swedish female driver ever. At Rally World Championships in New Zealand she won several stages and were at a 2:nd place, when her car suddently caught fire and burned up. This year Ramona made a strong comback in Swedish Rally Championship, and in a Skoda Fabia WRC. Result: Overall victory in the Swedish Championship final, and a silver medal in the Championship. No Swedish female driver has ever achieved a podium place in the highest class before, and Ramona has made a great impression in Swedish motorsport.
– My goal is always to become he fastest, I have a strong winner mentality. I really look forward to next year, and I will work hard to achieve my goals, Ramona Karlsson says.
