After two days of recce, time for their start in ADAC Rallye Deutschland is closing in. Ramona’s and Miriam’s fourth PWRC competition will also be their first on asphalt. Despite some concerns for the new kind of roads, all tests has gone well and they are now going through all the new notes before starting on Friday.
– We think we’ve managed to write good notes, although we’re not used to assess asphalt races. It’s hard to recognize which places there might be gravel on top of the road surface later – and when it is, it feels like driving on ball bearings Ramona says after the last reconnaissance of the day. The competition is on asphalt roads only, and parts of the race will be up on winding mountain roads. Ramona will probably have to use the handbrake and do it with great precision.
– Some hairpin bends were so tight that during reconnaissance we had to back the car out of them, Ramona says.
